Inspired by Gillman Barracks' address and the 24km long route march common in the training of 'graduating' army recruits in Singapore, Lock Route features 16 installations, murals and sculptures.
These outdoor artworks are created by 15 world-renowned and emerging international and Singapore artist, such as China’s Chen Tianzhuo, Vietnam’s Oanh Phi Phi, and Singapore’s very own Gerald Leow, Sheryo+Yok, Acit Salbini and Stephanie Jane Burt.
You are invited to traverse the grounds of Gillman Barracks and experience a close encounter with art out in the open.
Some of the notable artworks include a mural 'Land of Shadows' by Los Angeles-based artist Cleon Peterson, and the sculpture 'Constellation of One' by Kirsten Berg, a contributing artist of the Burning Man festival.
